Meet our Staff

Dr. Jennifer Coggin brings more than three decades of experience in early childhood education and leadership to her role as Director of the Early Learning Center at St. John's.

Originally from Miami, Florida, Jennifer grew up in an Air Force family, living throughout the United States as well as in Okinawa, Japan, and Exmouth, Western Australia. She first called Colorado home from 1984 to 1998 and, after earning her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin, returned to Colorado in 2008 to make it her permanent home.

Jennifer holds a Doctor of Education with a specialization in Early Childhood Mental Health and a Master of Science in Early Childhood Studies with a specialization in Teaching Adult Learners. Since beginning her career in 1991, she has served children and families in faith-based, nonprofit, and for-profit early childhood programs. Before joining St. John's, Jennifer supervised a special education team within an inclusive Head Start program.

A dedicated advocate for young children, Jennifer is actively involved in statewide early childhood initiatives. She serves on the Healthy Child Care Colorado Pyramid Professional Development Group and the Assuring Better Child Health and Development Policy Council, along with several other state-level policy committees focused on improving outcomes for children and families.

Outside of work, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She is the proud mother of one daughter and grandmother to five grandchildren who keep her happily busy. In her free time, she loves reading, attending live music performances, and cheering on her favorite sports teams.
